I read jawa pos newspaper (one of the biggest newspaper in east java) friday, november 26, 2010, there is a very sad article about many woman indonesian labors who are trapped in saudi arabia  the exactly location is in kandara bridge. they are dumped there after being tortured and raped by employer, the article said , "ironically, the republic indonesian embassy staff there seemed to turn a blind eye."

Kandara bridge is known as a gathering place of poor Indonesian workers in saudi arabia. frequent employment of women dumped there after being tortured and raped by employers. ironically, the republic Indonesian embassy staff there seemed to turn a blind eye.

            her skin is fair, her  age is about 20 years old. She comes from west java. unfortunately, she keep quiet. when asked, she is not answer. empty gaze, such as recenly experienced terrible incident.
            The other women who live under Kandara bridge, loyal accompany, "she had been  raped" said hani masiana who sit beside the woman whose mouth keep queit. she whispered so that the woman who is known name nina didn't hear.
            Hani who is a woman indonesian labor from karawang - west java, told, about two weeks ago, nina was found lying not far from the kandara bridge which place for indonesian labors ,who have tragic fate in saudi arabia, gathering. "her condition is so pathetic, her body is bruised blue like she had been beaten. her body is very  weak like fainted." she said.
             fortunately, her weak body was found by indonesian workers at that location. then they took care nina until she was conscious. but when nina was able to sit, she absolutely not respond anything. slowly they got information from her.
             "slowly we communicate with her, finally, step by step, she talk that she had been raped by her arabian employer," Hani said trying to describe what happened on Nina to Jawa Post.
             But bad fate still continued because after she could escaped from her depraved employer, Nina again suffered bad luck, an egyptian who previously would accommodate her also had bad intentions, she told , as a week she was held captive and raped by that egyptian, after that she was dumped in the kandara area. "there is someone seeing, Nina derived from camry car by egyptian," said hani.
            Nina told that she comes from Majalengka, west java , she told she is married and has child at her village, unfortunately, she apparently can not remember many things, for example when she was asked about her age she kept quiet. "she is still someone who is lossing her mind." she said.
            Acording to Rokib, 32 years old indonesian labor who stays under the kandara bridge, frequent events such as experienced nina. they were dumped not far from kandara bridge in order to find by indonesian labors who stay under kandara bridge to take care of them.
            "if the condition is severe, they are died here. There is also heavily pregnant dumped here, so being delivered baby under kandara bridge," he said.
             Rokib said, "the indonesian labors who live under kandara bridge don't know where to ask for help, because indonesia  consulate general (konjen RI) doesn't care of them. "it's useless we report that there is a woman indonesian labor raped, for example, the most they said there are witnesses or not," he said.
             Acording to him, there are a lot of harm despatch women indonesian labors to saudi arabia because of the arabian houses are covered by high walls so it is impossible to get out if something bad happened to them. even if they shout, nobody will hear. it's useless'.
            About Indonesian goverment plan to give mobile phone to each woman indonesian labor who is working in Saudi Arabia, he considered useless because most of indonesian labors already have that. but using mobile phone at there is not as free as the other country. "here is saudi arabia, which employer is like a king so not be able to be denied by housemaid like us," he said.
           On the other hand, Indonesian labor service companies who despatch women indonesian labors don't want to know what happened to them so they have to fend for themselves in Saudi Arabia. "very pity (women indonesian labors/TKW), some of them not to be paid for months, being tortured, being raped, then dumped to Kandara bridge," he said.         ------    (c5/kum)   ----  .

 I hope there is more attention from the indonesian government about this, if don't, I hope there is organization which empathize with them whether it is from national social organization or international organization or anyone who can help them, Because They are humans not animals. hopefully they can get back to indonesia.
